Yet another Gansuiji trip

Welcome to the lovely Gansuiji! I really like taking hikes out here. The "ji" means temple, so here's the entrance temple grounds.
Pretty flowers are in bloom.

And various wild firns/vegetables!

The next two are matured zenmai, royal ferns. They are completely uncultivated, but still used for a lot of cooking by people that go out and gather them.

Suuuper cool beetle!


And some crazy larva, found deep in a tree.

This beast is about half an inch big, so something tells me the pointer isn't for blood... maybe treesap?
